Have your dreams put a restraining order on you?

HAVE YOUR DREAMS PUT A RESTRAINING ORDER ON YOU??


I have some questions for you that are proven to get you thinking differently to before :-)
 

Take some time, about twenty minutes to write down your answers.

Okay so… here goes….

* Do you have a big dream or dreams?

* Is it the same one as last year? Has anything changed to get you nearer to it?

* What is stopping you from going after it? Are your reasons REALLY impossible to overcome?

* If I offered you a million dollars to get it done in a certain time frame, would that change your perspective, belief, drive or motivation?
Any clearer?

You see..... if you don’t have a road map or clear directions, how are you supposed to know where on earth your going??
Your dreams become much clearer once you start to focus on them. Be brave and bold and courageous! 
Start to chase your dreams so much that they try to put a restraining order on you (-:
dreams
* Take clear and decisive steps.

* Ignore negative and small minded people.

* Write down your goals and pin them everywhere.

* Tell as many people as you can and shout it from the roof tops.

* Most of all do something every day, consistently, no matter how small, that brings you a little closer to it.

Have you got goose-pimples today?

Don't be part of the flock!!!

Today, I just read a very special email from a wonderful person. He has finally got it and has made the decision to go and really LIVE his life! He has decided to be happy and so therefore I am feeling happy!

People often ask me.... am I always happy?

They seem to ponder and sometimes presume that because this is what I strive to help people with - 'feeling happier'- that this means that I have ultimately 'found' this illusive golden state and constantly reside within it! Is this the case? Not exactly.

Happiness is not a physical thing we can possess and its not a verb, its an adjective!

We 'DO' happiness but often people forget this and instead wait for it to somehow magically land in our lap one morning. My bet is that since you are reading this, then you are a thinking outside the box, have stepped away from the flock and this illusive myth and are actively looking for a more productive and pragmatic approach.

For us to experience happiness we need to DO things happily! Makes sense!

If I HAD happiness and possessed it, this means I could loose it, right? Not so good.

Luckily for us, I can CHOOSE to feel happy whenever I want by the act of DOING it.

This gives me control.


Do I feel happy all the time? Hell no! I would be a little crazy, right?


ALL our emotions are there for a reason, to help guide us. Just like we need fear to warn us of possible danger, we also need sadness so as to experience joy.

There can be no light without shadow.

What I 'Do' is to plan to feel happy by planning how I will do it!

Just like feeling unhappy is also a plan. You see....
Failure takes adequate planning.

If you always plan how your days are going to be the same and miserable then you will have more of that. If instead you plan for how you will feel happy then you will get more of that! Simple!

Get more of what you focus on! Right!

For you to experience more happiness, I respectfully suggest you DO this also, it REALLY helped me! I chose to make sure that everyday I would experience things that made me feel happy.
Like walking in nature, petting my doggie and eating good cake!

As well as this, DO things daily that cause you to feel fulfilled and make your heart pump with passion. DO things that make a difference. Help the next person you meet for no good reason except that he/she is a special human being just like you!

600 Steps for 6 Tips on How to perform better!

Yesterday, I suffered a little :-)

I climbed up the infamous 600 steps at Glendalough on the Spinc walk, all so as to clear my head and gather my thoughts after a few busy days. Actually....I only suffered a little (at the start) the steps are very tough but once up and your panting has subsided the view is SPECTACULAR!

The afternoon  was superb and I spotted Red Kites, rabbits, cranes, deer and Stags! Really incredible.

While walking I had a lot of time to reflect on life and puffing my way up those steps I got to thinking about motivation and how to improve performance.

Even I, caught myself a number of times saying to myself 'I cant, I cant', as I puffed my way up.
With all my training! What was this voice doing in my head??

BUT...I didn't stop and that's what counts. I noticed the voice, which dissolved its hold on me once it became conscious, (remember this!). So, I walked on and with each step I pondered more and more on how often we happen not to notice those unconscious influences...........

Pretty much ALL the time, unfortunately.

Because they don't come just from ourselves and our inner voice.
Yes, that voice that is now asking.. 'What voice...Do I have an inner voice?'

These influences are all around us and our unconscious and our visual cortex are constantly working and influencing and PRIMING your mind.

Let me give you an example of PRIMING.
Below are a few words with that have nothing to do with this newsletter -
  • car
  • gasoline
  • petroleum
  • mileage
  • distance
  • efficiency
Now fill in the blanks so as to complete the following word -   F _ _ L
Chances are that your brain chose a word related to the list above, even though there are many other possible alternatives!
Now ask yourself by going through the alphabet to consider other choices you could have selected. There are lots of possibilities but the priming effect very likely got your brain fixated on one that matched the previous words, right??

So what does this mean and more importantly how can this be actually useful to know???

Well, your unconscious is constantly picking up everything around (which it is) You may have heard me saying this before - your conscious mind picks up about 7 - 9 pieces of info while your unconscious processes billions at every moment.

So, while this is happening it is picking up all negative stuff also, yep??

For example - Say you read the daily paper. So your mind gets primed with words like these below - (which are actually taken from News’ headlines!)
  • denounce
  • fight
  • die
  • death
  • sombre
  • slain
  • fears
  • concerns
  • dismissed
  • defiant
  • avoids
  • risk
  • pandemic
Okay, you've read this news in the morning and primed your brain with words like the above! What’s the priming effect???? What other thoughts, feelings or ideas are being pre-empted because they’re relative to the above? MMMM, How about.... 'Danger! I’m frightened! I need to play it safe and protect what I have! I can’t afford to take risks! etc etc...... 

Then you check your social media - facebook etc etc - Your friends are sharing the usual trivialities. What's the Priming effect??  How about.....'Not important. Wasting time. Boring. Pointless. Petty drama. Feeling inadequate. Jealousy.' ..... Your getting the idea now.

And its also in other stuff, not just words.
The messy office desk = 'Disorganised. Scatter brained. Not enough time. Confused.'
The quick fix Fast Food Dinner = 'Cheap. Don't deserve to look after myself. Fat Lazy.'

The list goes on and on....! So of course that would all demotivate you, right??

So HOW can YOU help yourself counteract all this stuff??

Here is what I came up with going up those steps :-)

6 Tips on How to Perform better!
(Ooooh yea in the bedroom also!!)


1) Keep a diary beside your bed and last thing at night and first thing in the morning (the best times) write down what you are grateful for. Get your mind focusing in the right direction!
Priming effect = 'Abundance. Opportunities. Gifts. Feeling lucky.'

2) First thing in the morning look at yourself in the mirror and say 'I love myself' plus anything else you want to add, like how incredible you are. Give yourself some love and if near a loved one have a cuddle!
This translates as Priming effect = Affection. I am loved. Happy. Feeling lucky (again)!

3) Leave little notes around and good WORDS. Leave some on the fridge, press, wardrobe and side of computer screen. Anywhere your unconscious will take it in. Write down words that relate to what you want to achieve - For example - Success. Focus. Clarity. Motivation. Energy.
Priming effect  = Yep! More of the above!

4) Keep your living and workspace clean, tidy and organized. Take pride in it.
Priming effect = Efficient. Professional. Focused. Motivated.

5) Take care of yourself. Take pride in your appearance and health.
Priming effect = I deserve this. I am worthy. Best. Quality. Pride.

6) Speak to yourself better! Dissolve the power of negative words you use by counteracting them with positive. Change - not to will. But to and. Stupid to smart. Ugly to beautiful. etc etc. Say it over and over and when you hear.... I cant - keep changing it to I CAN!
Priming effect = More motivation. Focus. Clarity. Drive. Ambition. Happiness, etc etc.....

7) Help others - Find your purpose and true meaning and surround yourself with its messages.
Priming effect = Driving Passion. Love. Purpose. Motivation. Empowered.Fulfilment.

Following my dream!

Heat wave to Greek wave all for following my dream!....

Okay...so this has been a highly eventful week full of positive development, new friends and relationships and  wonderful inspiration!


I traveled all the way from my home, leaving our 'heatwave' of 21 degrees and where St.Patrick made his first attempt to land on Irish soil (Wicklow) to paddling in the foam and 41 degrees, where the Greek Goddess of love Aphrodite came out of the waves (Cyprus) and back to where myth says Garman Garbh was drowned on the mudflats by waters released by an Enchantress  (Wexford)
Besides all that I spent a lot of time queuing in the madness of a little Cypriot airport ( I think everybody had the same idea to fly home late on Sunday night, so as to catch all the sun) and chatting to the one and only, my wonderful friend and mentor Marina Nani  over cinnamon buns and chocolaty coffees until the sun peeked its head at 5am in Gatwick airport. This truly incredible woman has written over 20 books and it was her that inspired me to write my first book The Blackbelt Mastermind !

It was planned as a week of 'work' but was really all fun :-) because you see...this is my dream and my passion. To travel the world and meet people and to play a small part in helping them change their lives for the better. This week proved to be one of those most rewarding times, you know when you feel completely exhausted but adrenalin, buzz and sheer joy is keeping you going!

I got to meet the most wonderful people at long last, that I had up to now only known virtually and yes they were better in the real world! Vipin Ramdas the truest of gents you could ever meet picked me up from the airport and politely carried my case as I struggled to adapt and re learn how to breathe the stifling air - even though it was 10pm!

The next day slightly better 'adapted' in a sun dress, cool drink in hand and emergency pool by my side I finally met the one and only jumping queen Pavlina Papalouka event co-ordinator extraordinaire at Awaken Space .  Later we were joined by two more inspirational women hypnotizing Pat Duckworth from Royston Hypnotherapy and the Elegant Negotiator Serah Lister  where we awaited for Marina to arrive Champagne in hand!


The event 'How to monetize your big idea'on Saturday was truly wonderful as we met so many genuine and passionate Cypriot folk.

I spoke on stage about overcoming obstacles and following your dreams  and then later we celebrated with lots of Halloumi and Champagne :-)



Back in Ireland and down to the sunny South East to Wexford (well maybe not quite as sunny as Cyprus) but still.... I heard Michael Palin says the train ride from Dublin to Rosslare is the 2nd best after the Himalayas so that's not bad!!

I was one of the speakers at the IrishBiz Party Inspire Conference organized by another powerhouse woman Samantha Kelly AKA Tweeting Goddess  and a goddess she is!
Not only beautiful but also incredibly smart.....

Actually...her sister isn't bad either (okay, I know how this is starting to sound! lol) but seriously she is another web wizard.

Anyhow, I met so many wonderful people this week that I cant mention them all but my main message is this....

Look for the opportunities and you will find them.


Don't blow things out of proportion and push through your fears,
it will leave you feeling empowered!

As I said on stage, focus in the right direction and never look back.
Remember that... You get more of what you focus on!

I focused on these incredible folk, talented in so MANY fields and what I experienced and learnt from them was invaluable.
